Cristian deRitis is a Senior Director with Moody’s Analytics. As the Head of Consumer Credit Research in the Americas, Cristian specializes in credit, policy and the broader economic conditions.
He publishes analysis regularly and is often quoted in publications such as the Wall Street Journal for his views on the economy and consumer credit markets. In addition, Cristian leads a team of analysts in the development of econometric credit loss models for stress-testing, financial reporting and business as usual purposes including CCAR, DFAST, IFRS9 and CECL. Cristian also spearheads efforts to obtain alternative sources of data to measure economic activity more accurately than traditional sources.
Before joining Moody’s Analytics, Cristian worked for Fannie Mae and taught at Johns Hopkins University. He holds a PhD in economics from Johns Hopkins University and is named on two U.S. patents for credit modeling techniques.

Deniz Tudor, PhD, is a Director with Moody’s Analytics. As a Consumer Credit Economist, Deniz specializes in US consumer credit trends and leads the development of custom and industry-based econometric credit loss models for clients. She produces research and best-practices on U.S. consumer trends, stress-testing, IFRS9 and CECL, with extensive experience presenting at client, hosted and third-party events. Deniz also leads client projects for financial institutions of all sizes, and is responsible for several of Moody’s Analytics consumer credit analytics products and strategy, including data partnerships that expand the company’s offerings.
Before joining Moody’s Analytics, Deniz worked as a tenure-track assistant professor at San Francisco State University and taught various finance and risk management courses. She has published academic articles. She holds a PhD from the University of California, San Diego.

Karen Miner’s career has focused on governance, strategy, business management, and sustainability within co-operatives, non-profits, for-profit organizations, and government. In her current role as Managing Director of the International Centre for Co-operative Management and graduate level Co-operative Management Education at Saint Mary’s University (Halifax, Canada), Karen works with co-operative and credit union professionals from around the world. As part of this role, Karen has developed a number of international partnerships and programs (including Canada DE - a credit union professional development program - in close collaboration with the Caribbean counterpart, CaribDE).
One of Karen’s passions is governance. Important professional contributions in this area include current involvement in an international co-operative governance research project led by KU Leuven University (Belgium) and co-editing a global report on governance for the International Co-operative Alliance (2015). Furthermore, Karen is a certified director (ICD.D through the Institute of Corporate Directors and CUDA through the credit union system (Canada)).
Other co-operative activities have included a current role on the Board of Co-operative and Mutuals Canada and Credit Union Atlantic (CUA), 6 years on the Board of Directors of Mountain Equipment Co-op (MEC), advisory panels for The Co-operators and Vancity Credit Union, and 3 years on the Board of Directors of the Canadian Co-operative Association (CCA).

Tracey Kliesch is a Business Readiness Partner at Vancity – a large, open bond credit union based in Vancouver, Canada with 59 branches and serving more than 525,000 members across the province of British Columbia (Canada). Tracey’s work focuses on change management through learning and process improvements to bring large, strategic, and complex projects to life. Tracey has a long history at Vancity but did take two years off to lead CCEC Credit Union as their General Manager and CEO. Tracey has also worked internationally with credit unions to promote and strengthen the co-operative model and co-operative movement.
Outside of work, Tracey teaches Co-operatives and Community Economic Development at BCIT (British Columbia Institute of Technology) and sits on the board of the Co-operative Development Foundation of Canada, the Credit Union Foundation of British Columbia, and the Squamish Montessori Society.
Tracey holds a Master of Management, Co-operatives and Credit Unions from Saint Mary’s University (Canada). She has also completed the AfricaDE program in 2015 and co-founded CanadaDE in 2017 - DE is a powerful professional development program designed to enhance personal leadership and move toward the goal of building stronger members and communities.

Cory is the CEO of Leading Edge Credit Union- a rural-based credit union serving members in Newfoundland and Labrador (Canada) through five branches. His strategic focus is on ensuring his credit union balances financial success while demonstrating the co-operative principles and values.
Cory completed the Master of Management, Co-operatives and Credit Unions through Saint Mary’s University (Canada) and published a peer-reviewed article on leveraging the co-operative model within a credit union. In his own credit union, this strategy has been implemented through many initiatives, including the creation of a co-operative balanced scorecard to ensure key performance metrics are utilized for both operational and co-operative objectives. Leading Edge earned the distinguished Moses Coady Community Action award as a result of their many forward-thinking initiatives.
Cory is also very active in co-operative education and international development. He has served as a Co-operative Development Foundation (CDF Canada) mentor in Ghana and Uganda. He has hosted three women from the CDF International Women’s Mentorship program and a Uganda field specialist in his credit union. Cory completed the credit union focused CanadaDE program in 2017 and also serves as a mentor in both the CaribDE program and the CanadaDE program – a professional development program designed to enhance personal leadership and move toward the goal of building stronger members and communities.
Cory was a key player in developing and introducing the Growing our Futures Childcare Co-operative into his community; he now serves as the Board Chair. In addition, he is Treasurer for the local minor hockey program and actively involved in Credit Union provincial strategy teams.

The NCCU Ltd, established on November 1, 2010 is the largest Credit Union in the Organisation of Eastern Caribbean States (OECS) and the second largest financial institution in the Commonwealth of Dominica.
The NCCU Ltd, is an amalgamation of seven (7) credit unions – the Roseau, St Paul, La Salette, St David’s, Vieille Case, Castle Bruce and South Eastern Cooperative Credit Unions, into one entity. Teri Robinson is the CEO of Ironworkers USA Federal Credit Union, previously known as Pacific Northwest Ironworkers Federal Credit Union, a $33 million credit union in Portland Oregon. She has worked in credit unions for more than 30 years starting as a teller and working her way up. Teri graduated from Western CUNA Management School in 2008. She won the Credit Union Women’s Association Anna Reed Award in 2000. In 2010, she was given the Northwest Credit Union Association’s Heidemann Scholar Award for continually utilizing educational opportunities then using those skills to benefit the credit union movement. Teri is currently the CUNA Small Credit Union Board Chairperson helping lead decisions and discussions for the future of all small credit unions. October 2013, was named by the CUNA’s Credit Union Magazine as a credit union “Rock Star”, someone who demonstrates outstanding innovation and creativity in the credit union movement to make it a better, more interesting place. In 2018 Teri received 2 awards for her success in the credit union movement. In July of 2018 Teri was chosen as the recipient of the Western Cuna Management School Dr. Likens Alumni Award and in October she was recognized and honored to receive the “Innovation and Impact Award” from the Northwest Credit Union Association.
Teri guided Pacific NW Ironworkers FCU out of the most difficult financial times that most of us will experience in our lifetime. The credit union’s asses were at $7.9 million and capital at 4.8 percent, when she stepped in. Through perseverance and commitment to a clear vision that the credit union existed to serve Ironworkers, Teri led the credit union not only to a recovery, but beyond that, to success with assets over $33 million and capital of 10.0 percent. She helped the credit union receive their NCUA Low Income Designation and US Treasury CDFI Certification, she also obtained secondary capital to ensure her credit union’s viability in today’s market place.
Teri is not one to rest on her laurels; yet remains true to the vision of serving Ironworkers. She recently obtained approval for a nationwide charter to serve Ironworkers as Ironworkers USA Federal Credit Union. Beyond her credit union, Teri is actively involved in the credit union movement both locally and with CUNA on the national level. She is willing to share information and ideas with others.
Teri Robinson is an intelligent, strong, independent, rock star that can see the possibilities for credit unions so that we may be around for the long haul helping our members! When you meet her, you will see that her enthusiasm for credit unions is a bit contagious.

Shirley Cate, President and CEO With nearly 36 years in the credit union industry, Shirley Cate is a results-driven executive who brings a wealth of knowledge to her current position as President and CEO of Providence FCU. In her current role, Shirley leads operational and strategic direction and manages a cross-functional team of more than 30, which includes the Chief Financial Officer, Chief Operations Officer. Before joining the team at Providence FCU, she held the title of President and CEO at Cutting Edge Federal Credit Union where she oversaw the credit union’s overall operations, which included deposit and loan products rates and pricing. As President and CEO, Shirley manages all aspects of the credit union including finance, marketing and business development, operations, and technology. In her role, she redefines the organizational structure and oversees major pricing strategies on both share and loan products, as well as financial evaluation and results. She built her career working from credit union teller to CEO. Shirley graduated from the Western Cuna Management School in 1998. In 2007, Shirley received the Professional of the Year award from what was then called the Credit Union Association of Oregon and is now the NW Credit Union Association. From 2007-2010 she served as Chair of the NW Credit Union Association’s Board of Directors. She currently serves on the Healthcare Credit Union Association (HCUA) Board of Directors as Chair. When not at work, Shirley enjoys traveling and spending time with her 18-year-old son, Tanner.

Susan Mitchell has spent over 25 years providing consulting services to corporate america, specializing in the financial services industry. Susan began her career as a system analyst in the computer industry and progressed to hold positions such as Vice President of Sales and Senior Vice President of Research and Development in Fortune 500 companies. She was instrumental in the implementation of SB7, the Redlining Community Reinvestment Act legislation and she facilitated the capitalization of de novo banks with the Comptroller of Banks for the State of California. Susan has consulted with organizations such as Bank of America, Citicorp, Chase, Wells Fargo, and the FDIC while developing custom application software for market analysis, multiple regression and branch data exchange. She has authored numerous technical and behavioral educational programs that have been accredited by the National PONSI board and certified by the State of California Employment Training Panel. Susan currently provides strategic consultation to financial institutions and their business partners globally serving more than 5,000 financial institutions over her career.
In 2009, Susan was recognized by the World Council of Credit Unions for her volunteerism in developing countries around the world and her program advisory consultation as the founding Chair leading the creation of the Global Women’s Leadership Network initiative. Over the last eight years, Susan has continued to serve as Chair of GWLN and is proud to share that there are over 2000 members from 78 countries in the network today. 47 scholarships have been given to women from 22 countries; 42 Sister Societies formed in 16 countries; $450,000 given to increase women’s access to financial services worldwide and $2 million raised to make a measurable difference in the lives of people around the world. At the 2017 WOCCU Conference in Vienna, Susan and the Global Women's Leadership Network were awarded the Distinguished Service Award, the highest honor paid to individuals and institutions for outstanding contributions to international credit union development

As Chief Advocacy Officer at the Credit Union National Association, Ryan Donovan is responsible for the development and implementation of the Credit Union National Association’s legislative, regulatory and state government advocacy efforts. In recent years these efforts have proven successful in reducing credit unions’ regulatory burden and protecting them from legislative proposals which would make it more difficult for them to serve their members.
Ryan joined the Credit Union National Association as Vice President – Legislative Affairs in September 2007, and was promoted to Senior Vice President in September 2011 and to Chief Advocacy Officer in January 2015. Prior to joining CUNA, Ryan worked for the California and Nevada Credit Union Leagues as Director of Federal Government Affairs. He also served as a member of the Congressional staffs of Representative Brad Sherman (D-CA) and former House Democratic Leader Richard A. Gephardt (D-MO).
Ryan holds a Master in Government degree from the Johns Hopkins University and a Bachelor of Science in Political Science from Truman State University. A native of Missouri, Ryan is a passionate fan of the St. Louis Cardinals. He and his wife, Kristi, live in Fairfax, Virginia, with their daughters Paige and Juliet.

Tony Boutelle is the President and Chief Executive Officer of CU Direct. Tony has over 30 years of credit union industry experience, beginning his career at the Colorado Credit Union League in 1985. He continued his career at the California Credit Union League in beginning of 1987 and moved to CUNA Mutual Group in 1991 where he held executive positions at both companies. He returned to the California Credit Union League in 1994 to start CU Direct Corporation. He has built the network to include 1,130 credit unions and that represent 45 million members and 14,800 auto dealers. Under Tony’s leadership, the company has grown into the nation’s leading lending and automotive solutions provider for credit unions. Tony has successfully expanded the organization to include products such as Lending 360 (Loan Origination System), Origence (Mortgage Loans), CUDL (Lending Portal), OnSpot Financing (Retail Loans), Lending Insights (Loan Analytics), and comprehensive auto buying programs. In 2018, CU Direct helped credit unions fund over $45 billion in new loans and over $245 billion since inception. Tony graduated from the University of Wisconsin-Madison with a Bachelor’s of Business Administration.

Andrew “Andy” T. Price currently serves as the Regulatory Counsel for the World Council of Credit Unions where he engages in advocacy on behalf of credit unions worldwide before the various international standard setting bodies such as the Basel Committee on Banking Supervision the Financial Action Task Force, and others.
Andy combines years of diverse experience in the credit union industry having served as General Counsel for First Commerce Credit Union, engaged in advocacy and lobbying for credit unions at both the Credit Union National Association and the League of Southeastern Credit Unions, and worked for the prudential bank, credit union, and finance regulator in the State of Florida (Office of Financial Regulation) where he also served as a Cabinet Aide to Comptroller General Robert F. Milligan.
He holds his Juris Doctor from Nova Southeastern University and a Bachelor of Science in Legal Studies from the University of Central Florida. Additionally, he is certified as a Bank Secrecy Act Compliance Specialist, a Credit Union Compliance Expert, and a Credit Union Enterprise Risk Management Expert.

Tonita Webb’s more than 23 years of experience and leadership has transformed Seattle Credit Union’s culture creating an environment where employees thrive and every member can grow and prosper. As Chief Operating Officer, Tonita provides executive direction over contracts, administration, compliance/risk management, human resources, training, back office operations, call center, all lending teams, and facility management.
Tonita has long had a knack for leading teams and spearheading organizational change. After a venerable career serving in the United States Air Force, Tonita has held many human resources positions in the civilian world. Prior to joining SCU, she was a Human Resources Consultant with KBIJ & Associates and HR manager for Fraser Boiler, both in Seattle. Before that, she served as a Human Resource Personnel Officer at the Florida Department of Health and as Security Forces Specialist for the U.S. Air Force.
An extrovert by nature, Tonita believes every individual has promise. Her mission is to illuminate this promise so all individuals are empowered to prosper. This trait makes her an integral part of the SCU family, and she’s also inspired her staff to believe in this mission with passion and vigor.
Tonita’s unwavering motivation to help our members – many of whom are marginalized or underserved by big banks – comes deep from within. She recalls growing up in the projects on the East Coast with her two siblings and single mother, who struggled with Lupus. Despite the challenges, Tonita’s mother provided an environment where Tonita and her siblings thrived. Her mother’s strength instilled in Tonita the value of hard work, compassion, and above all, empathy. This empathy enables Tonita to create dynamic, sustainable change for our members and greater community.
Tonita earned a bachelor’s degree in Human Resource Management from Saint Leo University in Saint Leo, Florida and an MBA with emphasis in Human Resource Management from Walden University in Minneapolis, Minnesota. She is a member of the Society of Human Resource Management, serves on the Board of Directors for the African American Credit Union Coalition as Board Secretary, serves on the Board of Directors for Southeast Effective Development (S.E.E.D.) Seattle, volunteers on the Highline School District Capital Facilities Advisory Committee, and volunteered as Board of Director’s President for the Lupus Foundation of America/Pacific Northwest Chapter for five years. Mr. Pierre Séguin, a Canadian national, is a career financial sector professional with over 35 years of experience working in the banking regulatory environment including fifteen years with the Ontario Ministry of Financial Institutions as a Senior Inspector. Mr. Séguin also held positions with the Royal Bank of Canada, regulatory agencies, investment authorities, international management firms, the International Monetary Fund IMF and the Asian Development Bank ADB. Over the past ten years, he executed long term resident project management and technical advisory assignments at the State Bank of Vietnam, Central Bank of Congo, Central Bank of The Bahamas and the Financial Regulatory Commission of Mongolia to name a few. He recently completed a three-year assignment as the IMF Financial Sector Advisor for the Pacific region, PFTAC, based in Fiji. Eric L. Richard is a principal in the newly established law firm of CU Counsel in Washington, D.C. Previously, Eric served for nearly 18 years as General Counsel (and for much of that time as Executive Vice President) of the Credit Union National Association (CUNA) in Washington.
He led CUNA’s Legal Department, advising the Board of Directors, CEO, and senior management on governance issues, as well as supervising CUNA’s Regulatory Advocacy and Regulatory Compliance activities. Eric met frequently with federal regulators. Eric has played a key role in pursuing credit union interests in litigation involving field of membership, unrelated business income, payments, operations, and other legal challenges.
Eric has held a number of other positions in the financial services sector, particularly at Freddie Mac, where he served in the Legal Division’s Corporate Affairs Department, ultimately as Associate General Counsel for Legislative and Regulatory Affairs. He also worked as a top aide to a U.S. Senator, pursuing projects with members of both political parties.
Earlier in his career, Eric worked at the U.S. Department of Justice, where he served both as Associate Deputy Attorney General and as a special assistant to the U.S. Attorney General. Eric has also worked at large law firms in Washington, D.C., where he focused primarily on financial services matters.
Eric is a graduate of Princeton University (with highest honors, Phi Beta Kappa) and Harvard Law School, where he was Executive Editor of the Harvard International Law Journal. He has a lifelong interest in Russian affairs and speaks Russian. He has taken an active interest in Russian credit unions under the auspices of the World Council of Credit Unions. Manfred Alfonso Dasenbrock represents the Brazilian credit union movement as a delegate from Confederação das Cooperativas do Sicredi.
Dasenbrock holds a master's degree in business administration and has been active in Brazil's credit union movement since 1978. Since March 2009, he has served as Chairman of the Board of Sicredi Participações and Sicredi Confederation. In last May he has been elected as the Chairman of the Board of Sicredi Cooperative Bank and the Chairman of Sicredi Foundation Board of Trustees.
Dasenbrock is also member of the National Guarantee Fund for Credit Unions and coordinates the Specialized Council of Cooperative Credit.
Dasenbrock began his credit union career as executive director of Agro Industrial Co-operative in Paraná, Brazil, a position he held until 1994. He then served as president of Sicredi Vanguarda Credit Union until 2007. Since 2006, Dasenbrock has served as president of Central Sicredi PR/SC/RJ and vice president of Paraná Co-operatives Union Organization.

In 2007, Mr. Felix held the position of Manager, Non-Bank Credit Institutions and Money Services Supervision Department and had direct responsibility for supervision of the credit union sector, money services business, friendly societies, building societies and the Grenada Development Bank. In April 2017, Mr. Felix was appointed as Deputy Executive Director and one month later appointed to the post of Executive Director (Ag).
Since 1982, Mr. Felix has worked in the Grenada Public Service where he held several positions including that of Registrar of Cooperatives for a period of more than ten (10) years.
Mr. Felix is a graduate of the University of the West Indies (UWI) and holds a post graduate degree of Master of Business Administration (MBA) with that institution. In addition, he has received a wide range of training in various administrative, financial and other technical areas from a number of recognized institutions.
Mr. Felix is a former executive member of the Grenada Cricket Association and the Windward Islands Cricket Board. He currently serves as a Director on a number of Statutory Boards in Grenada.

Juan joined Mastercard’s sales organization in January 2016 and today is responsible for managing a Sales and Business Development team concentrated in credit unions, domestic banks and emerging financial institutions throughout key priority markets in the region. His main focus is in developing long lasting business relationship with strategic partners for Mastercard.
